My work building a website for an entrepreneur with a unique backstory.
Through discovery conversations with Michael, we decided on these goals for a successful website design:
Showcase the products through high-quality images.
Simplify the website experience.
Capture Michael's story in the design.
I was inspired by the quality of images I saw on competitor’s sites from my competitive analysis. For an online store, high-quality images are essential to convince visitors to make a purchase.
Photography is one of my hobbies, so I was excited for a chance to use those skills with UX.
I wanted to honor the business's beautiful origin story. I brainstormed qualities that could connect with the merchandise, as well as my client’s idea of a "new life.” In the end, I aimed to capture feelings of freedom, nature, and leather.
In the end, I created a design that both Michael and I are happy with. I learned the power of sharing rough mockups with my stakeholder, and using them to align on decisions throughout a project.
